The Equal Opportunities Working Party of the University of Vienna advocates a diversity-oriented university culture that condemns all forms of discrimination, actively promotes equality and respects the rights and dignity of all university members. The recognition of diversity should be considered the norm and requires the development of participatory and activating structures integrating students, academics and university staff.
Anniversary event “50 years of the Equal Opportunities Working Party at the University of Vienna”
On the occasion of the anniversary event, (former) members of the Equal Opportunities Working Party looked back and reflected on the past 25 years.
Christa Schnabl (Vice-Rector), Eva Nowotny (Chair of the University Board), Sabine Köszegi (Institute of Management Science, TU Wien), Stefanie Kickinger (doctoral candidate, University of Vienna) and Marion Polaschek (Vice-Chair of the Works Council for the General University Staff) participated in a panel discussion led by Petra Unger. Elke Schaumberger and Isabella Rausch provided sign language interpretation.
Following the panel discussion, Gudrun-Axeli Knapp gave a lecture titled "Winds of Change und dicke Bretter - Dialektiken feministischer Kritik" (the dialectics of feminist criticism).
